Overview:
This classic itinerary blends Ladakh’s high-altitude deserts with the lush valleys of Kashmir.
Visit Leh’s ancient monasteries, cross Khardung La (world’s highest motorable pass), marvel at Pangong Lake,
and end with a serene houseboat stay on Dal Lake in Srinagar.
Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: Delhi – Leh (Flight)
Arrive in Leh (11,500 ft) and acclimatize. Evening visit to Shanti Stupa and Leh Market.
Day 2: Leh Monastery & Indus Valley Tour
Explore Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery, and stroll along the Indus River.
Day 3: Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Drive over Khardung La (18,380 ft) to Nubra Valley. Visit Diskit Monastery and ride Bactrian camels at Hunder sand dunes.
Day 4: Nubra – Pangong Lake
Scenic drive along the Shyok River to Pangong Lake (14,000 ft). Overnight lakeside camp.
Day 5: Pangong – Leh
Sunrise photography at Pangong Lake. Return to Leh via Chang La Pass.
Day 6: Leh – Kargil
Drive via Magnetic Hill, Alchi Monastery, and Lamayuru’s Moonland landscapes. Overnight stay in Kargil.
Day 7: Kargil – Srinagar
Travel through Zoji La Pass and Sonamarg meadows to Srinagar. Stay in a traditional houseboat on Dal Lake.
Day 8: Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar
Full-day excursion to Gulmarg for Gondola ride, pony trekking, and leisure walks. Return to Srinagar.
Day 9: Srinagar – Pahalgam – Airport
Morning drive to Pahalgam (“Valley of Shepherds”), visiting Betaab Valley and Aru Village.
Transfer to Srinagar Airport for departure.
